VANNDALE, AR (KAIT) - It was two months ago that 20 kids were taken from the Bridge of Hope Children's Home in Vanndale and Arkansas State Police began an investigation.
On Saturday, Director Martha Watts received a letter from ASP stating the allegations were unsubstantiated and the investigation is over. The facility was shut down in May due to allegations of child abuse.
"I knew the allegations were not true, but I didn't know how they are going to be proven to be not true," Watts told Region 8 News.
Watts said now that the investigation is over, she hopes to move forward and get her children back. Watts has made several attempts to contact the Department of Human Services but has not gotten a response. She believes the next step will be a licensing investigation.
"Any type of training I would be more than welcome to do," Watts said. "I just want to move on and get our children back."
She said she never blamed ASP or DHS for investigating the allegations.Watts is hoping to schedule a meeting with DHS to see what can be done to move the process along.
