JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Trumann man was arrested in Jonesboro for drugs after an officer saw the vehicle they were in "driving very slowly" through a parking lot "in a very suspicious manner."
That's according to a police report from The Craighead County Sheriff's Department.
Deputy Brandon Womack noticed that vehicle in the Motel 6 parking lot around 12:15 Monday morning. He watched as the vehicle pulled into a parking lot and the passenger went into an upstairs room for about four minutes while the driver waited in the car.
While leaving the motel parking lot, the driver did not stop and failed to yield to crossing traffic on the road. Deputy Womack pulled them over on Stadium Boulevard.
The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Alex Kimble Jr. He had warrants out for his arrest from the Jonesboro Police Department.
Deputy Womack asked both men to step out of the vehicle, and then patted him down. Kimble was asked to take off his shoes, and a glass pipe coated with white residue was inside his right shoe. A small plastic baggie with a white substance inside was found lying on the ground where Kimble's pants were shook out.
The driver of the vehicle was released with a warning on the traffic violation, and Kimble was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Kimble also had a bag in his property that had jewelry inside. According to the police report, Kimble said he traded an ounce of weed for it earlier that day in Trumann. Trumann Police Department advised Deputy Womack that they had some recent burglaries where jewelry was taken, so pictures of the jewelry were sent to their department for possible identification of stolen property.
Kimble was charged with felony possession of meth with purpose to deliver and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
