BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Two people who were inside a home with a murder suspect in Blytheville were charged with hindering apprehension Thursday, according to Blytheville Police Captain Scott Adams.
Adams said Shaquan Rainer, 21, and Shauniqua Rainer, 23, were arrested for hindering the apprehension of Micah Hopkins, 30. Police said Hopkins was wanted in connection to the shooting death of a man in Champaign, Illinois.
According to Adams, Shaquan and Shauniqua were arraigned in Blytheville District Court. Both were given a bond of $2,500 and were scheduled to appear in court on August 24, 2014.
U.S. Marshal Bob Clark said Hopkins was taken into custody in a home at 1608 Chickasawba Street at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. Hopkins was arrested without incident.
Clark said they were unable to locate any weapons during the arrest.
Officers with the U.S. Marshal's Office, Blytheville Police Department and the Blytheville SWAT team participated in the arrest.
