JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Severe thunderstorms packing heavy rain, dangerous lightning and gusty winds made their way through Region 8 Wednesday.

The clean up began late in the afternoon and continues into Thursday.

Many areas reported power outages, trees toppled, and signs blown out.

According to the Entergy Arkansas Inc. outage map, Jackson and White County have over 1,000 customers without power. Surrounding areas are experiencing varying outages.

The power could return in some areas around noon Thursday, according to the map.
