Region 8 library hosts magic show

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 children were left in amazement after a magic show sponsored by the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library Wednesday.

Rocky Clements performed magic tricks for the library's last off site program.

Manager of Youth Services Kay Taylor said they want to help children retain their skills during the summer months before the new school year begins.

“It's a chance in the summer time for kids to have some "edutainment",” said Taylor. “They still get some education without realizing it themselves, and it's so important so that we don't get that summer slide. We want kids to participate in summer reading club. They don't just have to read to be able to do that.”

They held a show in the morning at the Parker Park Community Center and then a second show in the afternoon at the Mall at Turtle Creek.
