Posted: Updated:

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL (AP) - A 25-year-old Arkansas man is dead after a personal watercraft he was riding on collided with a commercial boat off Panama City Beach.

The crash occurred Thursday afternoon near Grand Lagoon.

The News Herald of Panama City (http://bit.ly/UrRH17 ) reports Bryan Hayes McManus of Little Rock, Arkansas, died of severe head injuries after being taken to a hospital.

Florida Fish and Wildlife spokesman Stan Kirkland says the boat was heading east and a string of personal watercraft was heading west when the nearly-head-on crash occurred.

A passenger on the commercial boat was tossed into the water but wasn't injured.

No further details were immediately available.

An investigation continues.
