Train crashes into 18-wheeler, no one hurt

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) – Poinsett County deputies are on the scene of an accident involving an 18-wheeler and a train that happened Friday afternoon, according to Poinsett County Sheriff Larry Mills.

Mills said the driver of an 18-wheeler got turned around on Lock and Dam Road north of Marked Tree. Mills said the driver then tried to cross a set of railroad tracks owned by Burlington Northern when a train struck his vehicle. Mills said the driver is lucky to be alive.

According to dispatch, deputies got a call from the railroad company at 3:30 Friday afternoon. The train struck the 18-wheeler where the trailer attachs to the cab of the truck.

The trailer was filled with rolls of paper.

Mills said no one was hurt in the accident.
