FOX, AR (KAIT) – A Stone County man is in jail accused of pouring gasoline on a woman and then lighting her on fire.

According to Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds, his department received a call about the incident early Tuesday morning from a home on Arkansas Highway 263 in Fox.

Bonds said the victim and witnesses told the department Jonathan Corter of Fox entered the woman’s home through a window with a container of gasoline. Corter is said to have then poured gas on the woman, chased her through the home and ignited the gas with a cigarette lighter after restraining her.

Corter was arrested later that day by Izard County authorities.

The woman was taken to a burn center in Little Rock. Her condition is unknown at this time.

On Wednesday, bond was set for Corter at $200,000. He is charged with aggravated residential burglary, reckless burning and second degree battery.

He is currently in the Stone County Detention Center.
