Region 8 escaped inmates caught

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) – The Independence County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the inmates who walked away from a work detail are back in custody.


Kyle McTigue, 21, of Cushman and Michael Bryant, 28, of Batesville were working at the Independence County Recycling Center when they walked away Friday afternoon around 12:30.

Both were last seen on Quarry B Road off U.S. Highway 167.

The two inmates were wearing orange jumpsuits and possibly white t-shirts.


The sheriff's department did not release any other information about the arrest.

Both men were being held on misdemeanor charges and were working off fines at the recycling center at the time of their escape.
