MOUNT PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) -

Mount Pleasant police officers responded to a vehicle crash at 501 Brookwood Drive Saturday afternoon.

Upon arrival, they found a 2007 Dodge Caravan had crashed into the residence. Officers say a 16-year-old male was being taught how to drive by his mother when he took a corner too fast. His mother told him to stop, but the student driver pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The driver's vehicle ended up in the homeowner's yard and then crashed into the house.

Luckily, the homeowner was not at the residence when the crash occurred. The crash is still under investigation.
