JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Jonesboro woman is charged with sexual assault after having sex with a teen.
According to a Jonesboro Police report, officers were called out to the 400-block of North Rogers Thursday to assist Arkansas Crimes Against Children.
Police were told that 21-year-old Samantha Barnes and a 14-year-old boy were sexually active.
Barnes said that she and her two children were staying with the family and admitted that she and the teen were dating and having sex.
She said that the teen's parents had consented to the activities, but they denied it.
Barnes was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and charged with a felony for sexual assault.
According to the Craighead County Jail, she was released the same day.
