Back-to-school bash expected more than 200 children

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta hosted a back-to-school bash at Allen Park Saturday.

Leaders of the group said they wanted to support the kids in the community with free school supplies, food and games.

This is the 4th back to school bash the organization has sponsored and expected nearly 200 children at the event.

Tawana Bailey said they wanted to change locations from last year in hopes to attract a bigger crowd.

Last year we did it at City Youth Ministry, but this year we decided to take a different approach and take it actually to the community and make it more of a fun day event for our community  and to support the kids as they go back to school,” said Bailey.

The event kicked off this morning at 10 and ended at 2.
