Newport man killed in weekend crash

JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Newport man was killed Saturday morning in an accident in Jackson County.

According to Arkansas State Police, Kevin Slagley, 44, was driving south on State Highway 145 when a Williford man driving west on Jackson County Road 620 drove into Slagley's path at the intersection.

Slagley was ejected from his car and reported dead at the scene.

The other driver involved, McCabe West, was taken to a Little Rock hospital. His condition is unknown.
