Bids approved for road improvements in Craighead Co.

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has announced the approval of bids for road projects in Craighead County and some surrounding counties.

On Monday the AHTD made several announcements concerning bids approved in northeast Arkansas which include Cleburne, Craighead, Fulton, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Mississippi and White County.

Specifically in Jonesboro, one project is approved to resurface two miles of County Roads 745 and 425. The contract was awarded to Atlas Asphalt of Batesville. Construction is expected to begin in two to four weeks, according to AHTD.

Other projects in Craighead County include areas of Bono, Brookland, Caraway and Monette.
