BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Tevarius Green, 24, made his first appearance before a judge on charges of capital murder, possession of a firearm by certain persons and theft of property on Wednesday after his transfer from Indiana State Prison. Green is accused of killing Charles Daniel Goodwin of Blytheville.

According to police, Goodwin was found with a gunshot wound to the head on July 7, 2013 at 524 East Cherry Street in Blytheville. Police also said they found his personal belongings had been taken from his pockets.

According to police records filed in Blytheville District Court, two days after the murder, a witness told officers that Goodwin was playing a video game inside a bedroom when Green entered the bedroom. The witness told officers that he heard a gunshot before Green left the room.

“The witness stated Green looked at him and stated, ‘Are we good,” then exited the residence,” police records indicated.

On July 12, 2013, another witness told officers that he saw the victim get into a heated argument with Green, records stated.

After the shooting, police believe Green left the state and went to Elkhart, Indiana, where he was found hiding in the basement of a friend's home on August 12, 2013.

Green was transported from Indiana State Prison to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

A judge ordered Green to be held with no bond. Green was given a September 25th court date.
