Police make arrest in Forrest City murder

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) -

A Forrest City man has been arrested for murder.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, officers were called to the 600-block of Gorman Street early Tuesday morning to someone lying under a tree suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said the victim, Louis Thompson, was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Memphis hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Willie Doby, Jr., 34, of Forrest City was questioned and arrested by police. Doby was charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a certain person and first degree terroristic threatening.
