HWY 133/River Road closed due to high water, flooding

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

Highway 133 (River Road) in Brunswick County is closed between Daws Creek Road to Orton Plantation in due to high water and flooding.

According to the DOT, the road will re-open Monday afternoon if the rain holds off. If it does rain, however, the road will remain closed until Tuesday morning.

Drivers in the area are asked to please use NC 87 to HWY 17 as an alternative route.
