Stolen tools, supplies found after police chase

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Police are looking for a person of interest after a police chase Sunday in New Madrid and Mississippi counties.

The MFA Oil Company in New Madrid County had around $800 worth of tools, brass fittings, copper tubing, metal fittings, electrical wiring, black booster cables, propane regulators and commercial vehicle license plates taken from their property.

A New Madrid County deputy saw a green Jeep Cherokee near the intersection of State Hwy. BB and State Hwy. P in rural New Madrid County around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The deputy tried to stop the Jeep for speeding, but it took off into Mississippi County where it went off the road and the driver ran from the scene.

The deputy found several tools, copper tubing, radiators, several boxes of fittings, and copper wire inside the vehicle.

The vehicle license plates belonged to MFA Oil Company.

There is a person of interest being sought in connection to the theft pending formal charges.
