Entertainment schedule announced for NEA District Fair

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The Northeast Arkansas District Fairgrounds will be full of cotton candy, rides, and people next month.

NEA District Fair's annual media day took place Monday through the noon hour.

This year's entertainment line-up was announced by General Manager for the NEA Fairgrounds Jerry Reece.

“We've taken a little bit different approach. We've gotten a lot of help from the local radio stations. They're going to be producing the Monday show and the Tuesday show,” said Reece. ”One of the big headlines this year on Monday is going to be Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears sister.”

The fair will take place September 15 through September 20.

Monday is buddy night at the fair. Two people can ride for the price of one. Triple D will perform at 6:00 p.m, and Jamie Lynn Spears will be in concert at 7:00 p.m. at the Grandstand.

Tuesday is ASU Freshman day. All Arkansas State University freshman who show an ID card will be admitted free. 104.9 The Fox and Central Chevrolet present the Front Porch Fan Jam free on the Main Stage at 7:00 p.m. that night.

Wednesday is dollar day. All ride prices are reduced. There will be a talent show Wednesday night at 7:00.

It's Senior Citizen's day and Arm Bands day on Thursday. All people over 65 get in free from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Arm bands will be $15, and grant you unlimited rides for the day. Thursday is also Gospel Night at the Grandstand beginning at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, all children under 12 will be admitted free 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. The midway opens at 3:00 in the afternoon. Memphis Classic Wrestling will be free at the Grandstand Friday night starting at 7:30.

The fair ends on Saturday with Arm Band day. Ken Yarbrough and South 40 Band will perform at 6:00 p.m. and Marty Haggard with be in concert at 7:30 at the Grandstand.
