JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State University held its annual Fall Faculty Conference Wednesday.
Faculty members gathered at Centennial Hall for presentations on a variety of subjects. Some of the topics included the university's overall progress over the last four years, the new performance funding measures being utilized, and technology in the classroom.
Dr. Chuck Welch, ASU System President, said, "Where we're headed in the future in terms of raising our profile in the university and really being very realistic about the challenges we face from the state outlook and funding and the way we need to be more entrepreneurial and more strategic in the way we approach our work."
Dr. Lynita Cooksey, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research, said this is a great opportunity for all of them.
"It gives us that opportunity to talk about where we're going, but particularly where we're going this academic year," said Cooksey. "So, we get to talk about the present, we get to talk about the future and how we're all going to work together to promote the success of Arkansas State University."
Over 400 faculty members attended the conference.
