CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR - The only hospital in Sharp County is closed until futher notice.

The Eastern Ozarks Regional Health Center in Cherokee Village closed its doors at midnight this morning.  The director of nursing told K8 News "a problem with the lab" is forcing the hospital to temporarily shut down.

Officials are to re-evaluate the situation every 12 hours.  All patients have been transferred to other hospitals.  Outpatient is available as long as labwork is not needed.  But the emergency room is closed.

Hospital officials stress that the shut-down is only temporary, and hope to re-open the facility as soon as possible.
