JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 man is accused of stealing a truck.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 46-year-old Trevor Johnson is charged with theft by receiving.

That charge stems from an incident on August 15, when officers were called out to a home on the 13-hundred block on West Monroe in Jonesboro.

The caller told officers that Trevor Johnson was causing a disturbance and the truck he was driving was stolen. Johnson reportedly told officers he "borrowed the truck" from a friend.

But when officers checked his story, they learned the truck had been stolen from a car lot in Mountain Home several hours earlier.

If convicted, Johnson could face up to 6 years in prison and/or up to a $10,000 fine.

According the Craighead County Jail inmate roster, Johnson is also charged with assault on a family or household member, but we don't know why he faces that charge.

He'll be back in court on September 26.
