MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (AP) - Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says a 42-year-old woman who escaped from a deputy's patrol car while handcuffed has surrendered.

Montgomery said in a news release late Sunday afternoon that Brandi Michelle Vanamberg surrendered and is being held without bond.

Montgomery said Vanamberg managed to roll down the rear window of a deputy's patrol car and escape on Saturday after the deputy arrested her near Carson Creek in the Whiteville area for revocation of a suspended sentence and contempt of court.

The sheriff says Vanamberg asked the deputy to retrieve her personal property from under a bridge over the creek - and while he was doing that the woman escaped.
