Butler Co. husband charged with attempted murder after shooting

BUTLER CO., AL (WSFA) -

Butler County authorities are investigating a domestic violence incident that injured a woman and turned into a multi-hour standoff.

Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden says a man shot his wife around 2 a.m. Tuesday at a residence on Wild Fort Road outside of Greenville.

The woman was transported by a personal vehicle to Georgiana and then transported by helicopter to Mobile. She's expected to be okay.

Jonathan Wright was arrested after a nearly eight-hour standoff. A 7-year-old child was inside the home during the standoff and was unharmed.

Wright is charged with attempted murder and domestic violence 1st degree.

    According to Cave City Police Chief Brian Barnett, a juvenile was arrested Saturday on suspicion of terroristic threatening after the student sent a picture.
