JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas U.S. Senator Mark Pryor is traveling across the state to discuss a bill he believes will increase jobs.
Pryor stopped in Jonesboro Tuesday, at the ASU Newport campus, to speak on his America Made Strong jobs legislation.
He said this bill will deny tax breaks for companies that move overseas and create a new tax to encourage U.S. companies to bring jobs home.
There are three parts to the bill: bring it, build it, and buy it.
"Bring those jobs back home and then build it," said Pryor. "We want to make sure when we're building infrastructure, etc. that it's all American made product, and then we also want to make sure when we buy things here we are confident that they are actually made in America."
Pryor also stopped at Anchor Packaging in Paragould.
By the time his tour is finished, he'll have made stops in Crittenden, Mississippi, Craighead, Greene, Marion, Boone and Benton counties.
Pryor faces a challenge from Republican Congressman Tom Cotton in November.
