Benton, MO man killed in crop dusting plane crash in TN

PARSONS, TN (KFVS/AP) - A Benton, Missouri man has died in West Tennessee where a crop dusting plane went down on Wednesday.

Hollis Malone, 29, of Benton, originally from Sikeston, Missouri was the pilot who was killed.

Decatur County Emergency Management Director Kevin Cagle says the plane crashed about 3 p.m. CDT Wednesday in the Bible Hill community in the northern part of the county, about five miles north of Parsons.

Malone was piloting the plane and was the only person aboard.

Cagle says the cause of the crash hasn't been determined, and the Federal Aviation Administration dispatched someone to investigate.

Visitation for Hollis Malone is from 11:30 a.m. Sunday until time of the funeral at 2 p.m.

Both services are being held at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, Missouri. The Services are being conducted by Ponder Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

The Hollis Malone Memorial Scholarship Fund has been set up at Focus Bank in Sikeston.
