Dothan convention and visitors center unveil new logo

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) -

The Dothan Area Convention and Visitors Bureau unveiled a new logo and branding campaign on Friday to encourage travelers to stop and visit Dothan.

Dothan is known as the "Peanut Capital of the World,"  and its new logo features the slogan, "Play and Stay for the Peanuts."

Dothan City Mayor Mike Schmitz served as the emcee for the event which included remarks from Digital Marketing Director and Gilf Coast Regional Director for the Alabama Tourism Department  and the Chairman for the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.

Sweet Home Alabama baby blue Cadillac also made an appearance to support the unveiling. The Cadillac is a part of a three year campaign focusing on driving itineraries that travelers can experience over a few days. It has become a symbol for road tripping across the state.

At this event officials announced the winner of the instagram contest which asked the participants to take a photo of what best describes Dothan and upload it with the hashtag #visitDothan.
