JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man was the victim of an attempted robbery near the Links Apartment Complex Sunday morning, according to a Jonesboro Police report.

According to Officer Larry King, a 25-year-old man was walking from a convenience store at approximately 5:30 Sunday morning when several people jumped him from behind. The victim told King that as he was walking from the store, “he felt someone grab him from behind and began to beat on him.”

The victim told King that as he was being beaten, one of the suspects reached into his pockets looking for a wallet. The victim did not have a wallet on him.

The victim was unable to give officers a good description of the suspects.

The victim sustained a cut on the right side of his forehead, a swollen left eye and a cut on his elbow.

Initially, the victim did not call police. The hospital where he was being treated notified officers.
