Arkansas State, Missouri game will be played in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The decision has been made. The Arkansas State versus Missouri football game will be played in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves athletic department made the announcement Tuesday afternoon during a news conference.

The university had an offer to move the game to St. Louis of an undisclosed amount. The St. Louis Sports Commission wooed Arkansas State to move its September 2015 game to its city. The game will mean more visitors wherever it's played.

Missouri is located in Columbia, about a two hour drive to St. Louis, versus a six hour drive to Jonesboro.

The game between Arkansas State and Missouri will be September 12, 2015 at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro. Both schools agreed to a 'home and home' series. Mizzou won the last meeting in 2013 in Columbia 41-19.
