Highway Department to Host Public Meeting This Afternoon on Paragould Bypass

DECEMBER 2, 2004 - Posted at 7:59 a.m. CST

PARAGOULD, AR - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will host an open house public meeting for the Paragould Bypass Study late this afternoon and early this evening in Paragould.  The public forum is set for 4 to 7 p.m. at the Paragould High School Cafeteria at 1701 West Court Street.

The study was initiated in early 2004 by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to update and verify a 1997 Paragould Bypass study.  A Recommended Alternative for a bypass of Paragould, as well as the results of a study of traffic patterns in Paragould, will be presented at the meeting.

The meeting will afford those in attendance an opportunity to comment on the Recommended Alternative and the need for a bypass.  Representatives of the Highway & Transportation Department, as well as the consultant preparing the study, will be available to answer questions and receive comments.
