    Alabama’s Chandler Taylor has been selected to the roster for the eighth annual College Home Run Derby at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Neb., on Saturday, July 1, Intersport announced today. Taylor is one of six men’s college baseball players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. CT. He was invited to take part in the College Home Run Derby after being recognized as one of the top power hitters in college baseball.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide is naming its starting quarterback for Saturday's game against West Virginia.

According to CBS Sports, coach Nick Saban will go with Blake Sims to start the game with FSU transfer Jacob Coker as the backup QB. Coker is expected to have playing time in the game against the Mountaineers.

The decision is considered an open audition and both quarterbacks will get their chance to strengthen their case during the game.

The Tide kicks off against West Virginia at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
