CHEROKEE VILLAGE-- Eastern Ozark Regional Health System in Sharp County has locked it's doors.

Thursday morning, employees of the medical facility were told not to report to work anymore. The hospital had already closed it's lab, emergency room and inpatient services on Monday. Now, residents of Sharp County are without any medical services.

"A lot of people say it's a "band-aid" facility. Maybe it was but, we were to stabilize patients and get them to the next facility," said Dr. Fran Duke.

The hospital received deficiencies notices from the state Health Department last month.

Anyone with a medical emergency is being re-directed to the nearest hospital. The nearest emergency room could be as far as an hour and a half away in Jonesboro, depending on the emergency.
