JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - There are mixed numbers on Arkansas State University's fall enrollment.
Wednesday, the university announced over 13,100 students at its Jonesboro campus.
That number is a decline of about 400 students this time last year.
Astate cites higher admission criteria, significant graduation totals and a decline in international and degree centers registration as reasons for the decline.
The good news is the university has its largest freshman class ever with an average ACT score of just under 24.
That's over three points higher than the state average.
