Mike Ross stopped by St. Bernards Sr. Life Center

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

November elections are quickly approaching and candidates are hot on the campaign trail.

Candidate for Arkansas Governor Mike Ross stopped in at St. Bernards Senior Life Center this Wednesday morning.

Director for the Senior Life Center, Elizabeth Ferguson, said she's proud seniors had an opportunity to talk to Ross about their issues and concerns.

“I hope that our seniors have felt like that they had a voice and I hope that he can take something they have offered him that will help him be a better candidate and in the event that he wins the election, a better governor for them. And that they feel like they have been heard.”

Ross said he's enjoyed his time on tour.

“I think it will help me be a better governor by listening to people and learning their concerns and hearing their stories. Over the last year and a half, it's been a real rewarding experience for me to get out all over this state and to meet folks and to listen to them.”

The Jonesboro St. Bernards Senior Life Center serves anywhere from 175 to 230 meals a day.

They also provide seniors with the ability to exercise, social activities, and transportation.

Ross is running against Republican Asa Hutchinson in the November 4th elections.
