First “Fighting for the Children” hosted on Wednesday

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Coldwell Banker and Circle of Friends teamed up to host the first "Fighting for the Children" fundraiser for the Arkansas Children's hospital on Wednesday.

Local realtors competed to raise the most money for ACH and a total of 3,378 dollars was raised in just in one day.

Supporters not only gathered to raise funds, but awareness as well.

Samantha Walker's son was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate

He has visited the hospital since birth.

Walker said, “I think a lot of people feel like ach is something that happens in little rock, and I don't think people realize the extent it touches people in Jonesboro, Craighead County, and the surrounding counties.”

Last year, ACH had nearly four thousand patients from Craighead County alone and services several thousand more throughout Northeast Arkansas.
