Alleged Bank Robber Hangs Himself in Crittenden County Jail

DECEMBER 3, 2004 - Posted at 8:13 a.m. CST

MARION, AR - Jail officials in Crittenden County say a suspect in a bank robbery hanged himself in a cell.

Perry Lynn Robson, 42, and his girlfriend Share Ann Tucker, both from Powhatan Point, Ohio, were arrested after the robbery Tuesday at First Community Bank of Eastern Arkansas in Marion.

The pair was arrested less than a half-hour later after being stopped by Tyronza police officer Tony Turner.

A jailer found Robson hanging from a light the next morning just after breakfast.  Officials said Robson used a blanket in the cell to hang himself.  Medical staff were called but could not revive him.  There was no evidence Robson had tried earlier to kill himself.
