JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An early morning fire destroyed a Jonesboro flea market.

Fire Chief Kevin Miller says the fire in the 2700-block of North Church Street started around 2:45 Thursday morning.

Jonesboro police blocked parts of the road, while fire crews worked to battle the flames.

By 8 o'clock the fire was doused and crews were cleaning up the scene.

The building housed a flea market in what was formerly Gibson's Feed and Supply Store.

Chief Miller said it was still unknown what had caused the fire.

He said the building had suffered some damage during the summer's wind storms and had just had its roof replaced.
