Jonesboro woman charged with prescription fraud

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman is accused of writing phony prescriptions for herself and others.

According to police, Teri Elizabeth Poole is charged with fraud.

Police began their investigation on Wednesday afternoon when an employee at a pharmacy contacted the prescribing doctor for verification.

According to an incident report, a man came in to the store to refill a prescription. But the clerk said the prescription wasn't due for a refill. That's when the clerk called the clinic the prescription came from, Otolaryngology and Facial Surgery Centre (OFSC).

After learning the man's prescription was forged, the report states the clerk and an employee with OFSC discovered numerous forged prescriptions linked to Poole, who is an employee at OFSC.

During the investigation, police found forged prescriptions to six people, including Poole and her boyfriend. Police said many of the prescriptions were used at five pharmacies in Jonesboro and one in Paragould.
