Henderson State #7, Harding receives votes in AFCA Top 25

WACO, TX (GreatAmericanConference.com) - Following a convincing season-opening victory against Southern Nazarene, Henderson State moved up one spot to No. 7 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) top 25 poll, release on Monday.

The Reddies defeated the Crimson Storm, 72-7. All-American Kevin Rodgers threw for 408 yards and a GAC-record-tying seven touchdowns. Darius Davis caught a GAC-record five of those touchdown passes and racked up 217 receiving yards.

The Reddies have appeared inside the top 10 in 17 of the last 20 AFCA polls.

Harding and Ouachita Baptist each finished among the teams receiving votes in the poll. The Bisons moved to within three places of the top 25. The Tigers continued receiving votes despite an open week in week one.
