JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Four Region 8 men accused of rape and child pornography pleaded guilty this week to a lesser charge.

On Tuesday, Benjamin Vardell, Brent Crow, Lukus Oden, and Kenneth Thompson all pleaded guilty to second degree sexual assault.

They were sentenced to 5 years' probation and 120 days in the Craighead County Detention Center with credit for time served.

Vardell and Crow, who had already served their time, were released.

All four must register as sex offenders.

The four men, along with 11 others, were arrested last year on rape and child pornography charges stemming from a multi-county investigation involving a 12-year-old Jonesboro girl.

During their investigation, detectives said they found more than 59,000 text and picture messages exchanged between the victim and the adults.
