CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Cross County Sheriff's Office released new information Friday afternoon about a shooting earlier in the morning.
Sheriff J.R. Smith said officers got a call at 4:20 Friday morning stating someone had been shot. Initially, Smith said the victim was shot six times. However further investigation revealed the man was shot with a shotgun, which had several entry wounds from buckshot.
Police found Silas Wayne Gibson, 27, of Wynne with the gunshot on County Road 383. He was transported to The Med in Memphis.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released.
No arrests have been made and Smith said the investigation would last into the weekend.
