Another day and another saga in the crosses on the helmets on Arkansas State's football helmets.
It's a shame that the two men this team tried to honor and their families have been hurt. They were just doing what they thought was the right thing at the time.
Now, we all love to Monday morning quarterback – so here it goes. You know PT Barnum said, "There's no such thing as bad publicity." and I would add, as long as they're not talking about you!
A lot of these problems could have been avoided if the coaches and administration at A-State had checked the legal ramifications before using school funds to purchase the crosses in the first place. The story would have been more positive and the publicity would have been better. Hopefully, this is behind the university.
So where do we go from here? Go to the game on Saturday. Standing up for what you believe in and supporting the players through all of this and honoring the two young men who lost their lives will make this A Better Region 8.
