Pearl Harbor to be Remembered in Downtown Jonesboro This Morning

DECEMBER 7, 2004 - Posted at 7:36 a.m. CST

JONESBORO, AR - Today marks the 63rd anniversary of FDR's infamous "day that shall live in infamy"...the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor that thrust the U.S. into the middle of World War II.  Prior to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks along the eastern seaboard, Pearl Harbor stood as the single worst sneak attack ever on American soil.

The Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation will conduct a "Remember Pearl Harbor Day" ceremony this morning at 9:30 at the veterans monument on the front lawn of the Craighead County Courthouse in downtown Jonesboro.

All veterans, as well as the general public, are encouraged to attend this morning's brief ceremony.
