LITTLE ROCK, AR - U.S. Senator Mark Pryor has lost his seat on the Armed Services Committee.
Democrats in the Senate have lost a batch of committee seats as a result of the November general election, and Pryor was among the casualties.
Pryor, who is serving his first term, used his Armed Services seat to work on bills affecting the Pine Bluff arsenal, the 188th Fighter Wing in Fort Smith and other Arkansas military installations. But he does pick up a desirable seat on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. The Commerce panel handles about 60 percent of the Senate's legislation and is considered an attractive post.
