Truck hits apartment, sends Jonesboro woman to hospital

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman was hurt early Friday morning when a pickup truck slammed into her apartment wall.

Around 1 a.m. a woman and four others were sitting on a couch inside the apartment in the 2200-block of Spence Circle when a white pickup truck struck the west side of the building, according to the initial police report.

The impact threw several of the victims across the room, including the woman who struck a coffee table and suffered a “significant” cut to her arm. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

After hitting the wall, witnesses told police the truck backed up and drove away.

During his investigation, Officer Ben Stone reported finding a white driver's side mirror and a black fender well cover, believed to be from a Ford pickup truck, a few yards west of the apartment.

He also reported finding “a trail of beer cans along Spence Circle.”

The mirror, fender well, and beer cans were collected and logged into evidence.
