JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Friday, 450 volunteers from businesses around the area rolled up their sleeves for the United Way.
The 2014 United Way Day of Caring kicked off Friday morning with breakfast.
Volunteers spent time Friday on 55 different projects.
Terry Williams with City Water and Light said he's participated for the past 20 years, and many of those memories have stuck with him.
"A few years back we were working at the Woman's Crisis Center and it was a long day. When we were leaving at the end of the day, two little girls were hanging out the window hollering at us, thanking us, and waving at us, and it just makes you feel so good."
CWL was just one of many businesses that took part in this year's event.
