JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A woman was flown to a Memphis hospital early Sunday morning after Jonesboro police say she walked into traffic and was hit by a truck.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Johnson and Dean.
When Officer Austin Morgan arrived at the scene he found 19-year-old Victoria Davis of El Dorado laying in the outside eastbound lane of Johnson.
Morgan stated in his initial incident report that Davis had “serious injuries to her right leg;” but, she was conscious.
According to 18-year-old William Quickel of Jonesboro and other witnesses, Davis was walking south across Johnson when she walked into the path of Quickel's Chevy Silverado.
Quickel said he swerved to the right to avoid Davis but she struck his pickup near the driver's side mirror.
Davis was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis to be treated for her injuries.
