IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Izard County Sheriff's Department has released information on two separate crimes that occurred recently.
A case of counterfeit money was reported. According to the sheriff's department a fake $100 bill was recently passed at the Dollar General Store in Horseshoe Bend. Investigators have identified the man passing the counterfeit bill, the woman giving the bill to the man and a man who gave the money to the woman.
The bill might have been passed in Independence County as well.
The sheriff's department did not state whether or not any arrests were made in this case.
A separate case involves stolen money from a store in Melbourne on the evening of Sept. 27.
The sheriff's department stated a woman, believed to be in her twenties, removed a wallet from a work station at Home Town Market and took a $20 bill. Another older woman is believed to have been serving as her lookout.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence said both women left the store in a green GMC extended cab truck.
