JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The community marked the first phase of a major St. Bernards construction project in Jonesboro with signatures after it was completed on Tuesday.
During a topping out ceremony at St. Bernards Villa on West Parker Road, people lined up to sign their name on this board.
That board was then placed on the building marking the first phase of the construction that began about seven years ago.
"We just love to see this and see it come together and people come out and do a tour through it," Andrew Adlong, Nabholz Construction manager, said. "It's just nice to bring something like this to the community and be a part of it."
In a news release, a representative with St. Bernards said Lawrence county-native Bill Rainwater used to own some hotels in Jonesboro and was a member of the St. Bernards board before he passed away.
In memory of him, the Rainwater family donated money for a memory center on the St. Bernards Villa, which will be named after him.
The St. Bernards Villa should be complete sometime in March 2015.
