Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Williams Baptist College men's soccer team fell to Lyon College by a final of 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The game was played in Walnut Ridge.
The first half of the contest remained close, with Lyon's Jack Hayes netting the first goal in the 31st minute. The score did not change for the rest of the half, as the Scots held the 1-0 lead over the Eagles.
The second half saw a flurry of offensive attacks for the Scots, and they scored four times in the first 18 minutes of the half. For WBC, forward Matheus Allonso netted his seventh goal of the season on an assist from Jan Striewe in the 64th minute of the contest.
The Scots were led by Jonathan Ray who scored two goals. Abdullah Adam had one goal and two assists and Bryan Roque had the other goal for Lyon (5-5-1, 3-3 AMC).
Williams is now 4-5-1 on the season and 2-4 in the American Midwest Conference. The next contest for the Eagles is against the Pirates of Park University on Saturday, October 11th. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m., in Parkville, Mo.
